Kids At Risk Action is a passionate and unapologetic advocate for abused and neglected children with a mission to support the people, policies and programs that improve their lives.

KARA is creating the INVISIBLE CHILDREN program to improve awareness and build a volunteer force to interrupt generational child abuse and heal children damaged by abuse.

Purpose: Support day-to-day operation of a small, dynamic non-profit organization.

Starting; 10-15 hours/week, $22.50/hour.  Sixty-day trial period.  Grow with us.

Location; Virtual, with meetings within Metro Minneapolis, St Paul Area.

Essential Functions:

Administrative Support – Providing general administrative support in a fast changing and entrepreneurial environment including but not limited to:

Work directly with the executive director to manage multiple tasks,

Communicating with volunteers & supporters & child friendly organizations.

Oversee KARA social media, databases; volunteers, colleges & donors.

Qualifications: 

Two years related experience; nonprofit experience a plus, self-directed.

Must have transportation.

Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.

Solid written and oral communication skills and excellent phone manner.

Ability to develop effective work plans, organize details, set priorities, and meet deadlines.

Interest in and commitment to KARA’s mission is helpful –

(supporting the people, programs and policies that improve the lives of abused and neglected children).

 

Estimated weekly task allocation;

Social media oversight

Setting phone appointments for executive director with colleges & foundations

Communicating / Tracking volunteers, supporters and colleges

Keeping the Smartsheet database current

Communicating with executive director

Events (occasional today, but a growing area of involvement)

Other duties as directed by the executive director

First weeks;

Set up preferred and regular communication with executive director.

Become familiar with KARA’s people, programs and process

Future;

Grow a plan for administrative strategy and effective communication, becoming a part of the growing Kids At Risk Action team and programs.

Opportunities for personal and professional development and growth.
