Thank you Colleges for reposting my comment about AZ. Our recent elections have sealed the fate of education, health and public services for our State. More budget cuts, higher expectations with less resources in over-crowded situations. Our salaries to be cut again. Highly qulified are leaving to manage QT gas stations cause they can make more money and actually support their families. It is true the media is biased but this is a National challenge. It only took 10% of the population to follow Hitler and for the Nazis to gain power. The very vocal redical fringes in our country are only 10%. It only takes good people to be silent for evil to come to power. Are we too silent?

I live in AZ and our legislators would have faired well with the politicians of Swift's day. They firmly believe in the coporation and profits above families, family services, education and public services like police and fire. It is a shame in our state that this cannot be brought to the public though the media but they too are owned by the powers of our state. We have little or no say in most things that happen here. Perhaps they will propose the children be eaten to save money in the health and education areas.

I would respond to R Cox the same way I did to one who told me that I was lucky I had suffered physical abuse because she had suffered spiritual oppression and it was so much worse. I thought, spoken like one who has never had a beat down!
I heard the 'f' word at age 4 when I was being molested. At age sixteen my mother almost beat me to death. And it's never up to the ruler?
A young girl once went to church with me and later declared that God was not for her because her belief was that if you believe in Heaven you will go there, but if you believe in hell, you will go there and that people die the way they want to die. It is all up to us to choose. I almost told her about how my mom died a long drawn out pain filled death all the while begging God to please not let her die, but decided that since she was young I would let her enjoy a few more years of ignorance and then I would suggest that she spend an evening watching CNN.
On Oprah years ago, Nicole Hilton, heir to the Hilton fortune, made the comment that "we are all born with the same opportunities," and I will admit that I seriously wanted to smack her.

I would respond to R Cox that my caseload included a number of children that were sexually abused from the time they were four until they were seven. Hard to be master of your fate when your caregiver ties you to a bed and beats and molests you. These children suffer their abuse forever. It does not go away when the abuse ceases. If you don't understand the substance of the discussion, ask questions.

All of us are ruled by our own permissions. Whatsoever we permit will be done to us. When we stop allowing them to rule over us and pull them down from their high places, we will be masters of our own fate captians of our own soul.

It is up to the ruled...never the rulers!
